RCM Content Utility

Content for entities (organizations, processes, IT applications, projects and events, custom entities) can be easily created and managed in the Governance Portal by the administrator via the RCM content utility. By utilizing an Excel spreadsheet, the administrator can easily mass upload, update, delete and move information including:

*Note: Only supports the movement of documents from one organizational unit or process to another organizational unit or process.

To facilitate initial Portal setup, content may be entered directly into the RCM content utility. This aids importing data that is housed elsewhere and expedites the population process. Risk matrix objects (e.g. objectives, risks etc.) can be created and linkages between these objects may be established within the utility.

The RCM content utility also facilitates the ongoing maintenance of existing RCM data within the Governance Portal. Existing data can be moved, modified or deleted in mass streamlining the change management process. The Admin utilizes a set of standard system searches to facilitate updating, deleting and moving content. Once the search has been executed, the results are downloaded to a spreadsheet. The content can then be copied to the utility where it can be:

  1. Moved: Selectively move content to a new organizational unit or process. For example, as part of a corporate reorganization, a subset of risks and controls that previously pertained to one organizational unit or process now exists within a completely separate organization or process. In this example, the utility allows users to move the subset of risks and controls within a given organizational unit or process to the new organizational unit or process.
  2. Updated: Selectively update information including object attributes and linkages between objects.
  3. Deleted: Selectively remove data that is no longer relevant to the organization or process.

Once the new content has been added, and existing content has been updated, moved or deleted, the administrator will upload the utility to the Governance Portal to apply the changes.
