Entity Upload Utility

The Entity Upload Utility uses Microsoft Excel to mass upload entity information into the Governance Portal. By utilizing an Excel spreadsheet, the administrator can easily mass create, update, delete and link entity information, including:

• Organizations
• Processes
• IT Applications
• Projects and Events
• Custom Entities

The Entity Upload Utility allows you to perform the following actions:

• Create: Create a new entity (e.g. organization; IT application etc.).

  Note: You cannot create a process using the Entity Upload Utility. Processes are created as part of your Process Classification Scheme, which is built out when establishing common models and frameworks.

• Update: Selectively update entity information, including attributes and linkages between entities.

  Note: You cannot link an organization to a process or an IT application to a project or event using the Entity Upload Utility.

• Delete: Selectively remove an existing entity from the Governance Portal.

The administrator will download the Entity Upload Utility spreadsheet to their hard drive, populate the spreadsheet with the relevant entity information, and then upload the spreadsheet back into the Governance Portal.
