Manage Projects and Events

The Project & Events model enables you to catalog one time efforts and occurrences that impact the entity.

A project is a discrete corporate initiative with a definitive start and end and concludes in a deliverable. Project examples include:

An event is a planned, unplanned or regulatory occurrence that must be managed. Event examples include:

Projects & events typically have a set of objectives, risks and controls that need to be managed, and potentially documented, self assessed and/or incorporated into an internal project. You are allowed to capture documentation as well as perform a risk and control matrix analysis for a Project/Event. From the entity hierarchy you can add projects and events and link them to organizations, processes, IT applications, and custom entities, as well as add and build out RCMs within a project and event.

Access IT Applications in the Entity Hierarchy tree

  1. Access the Entity Hierarchy
  2. Expand the Projects and Events folder. The list of projects and events will appear below the folder.

View Project and Event

Double-click the project and event you wish to view or right-click and select View Object. The project and event attributes page will appear in the window on the right-hand side of the screen.

Edit Project and Event

  1. Right-click on the project and event you wish to edit and select Edit Attributes.
  2. Make your changes to the Project and Event form.
  3. Click Save.

Add a Project and Event

  1. Right-click on the Project and Event folder, select icon-Add Add Object and select GP - Hierarchy - project and event Project and Events.

  2. Fill out the fields in the Project and Event form.
  3. Click Save.

Add an RCM to a Project and Event

  1. Right-click on the project and event where you wish to add the RCM, select icon-Add Add Object and select GP - Hierarchy - RCM RCM.

  2. Fill out the fields in the RCM form.
  3. Click Save.

    Notes:

    • The RCM option will not be available if the project and event's RCM has already been chosen.

Link a Project and Event to Another Entity

  1. Right-click on the Project and Event you wish to link from inside the Project and Events folder.

  2. Select Link Object and choose the entity type you wish to link to the project and event.
  3. Mark the checkboxes next to the entities you wish to link in the search list.

    Note: Click Edit Search and utilize the list search functionality to modify your selection and focus your results. See Utilize List Searches for more information.

  4. Click Save.
